Portrait Prof. Dr. Monika Oberle – FIT4EU

Prof. Dr. Monika Oberle

is a University Professor of Political Science with a focus on Didactics of Social Sciences at Goethe-University Frankfurt and head of the Jean Monnet project Fit4EU. She studied political science in Marburg, London and Berlin and completed her doctorate at the Karlsruhe University of Education on the subject of students’ political knowledge of the European Union. Her chair is dedicated to systematic empirical research into various factors of teaching-learning processes in civic education. One of her research focuses is on EU civic education. She has successfully conducted numerous teacher training courses on civic education.

Andrea Zeller

is a research associate at the Chair of Political Science / Didactics of Social Sciences at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. Previously, she worked as a research associate at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, where she taught topics such as governance in the European multi-level system, democracy and legitimacy, as well as trade and financial policy of the European Union. She also gained experience in project management and controlling in a medium-sized company.

Lisa Beck-Vogt

studied German, Politics and Society, as well as History for secondary school teaching and has been working for several years as a senior teacher at a vocational secondary school (FOSBOS) in Bavaria. Currently, she is a research associate at the Chair of Political Science with a focus on the Didactics of Social Sciences at Goethe University Frankfurt, where she is involved in the Jean Monnet project “Fit4EU.”

Maggie Achleitner

was from 01/01/2023 to 31/07/2024 a Research Associate at the Chair of Political Science / Civic Education at the Georg-August University of Göttingen and from 01/08/2024 to 30/09/2024 at the Professorship of Political Science with a focus on Didactics of Social Sciences at Goethe-University Frankfurt. In the Jean Monnet project Fit4EU, she designed, implemented and evaluated teacher trainings in the field of civic education on the European Union. She studied Sociology at the University of Vienna (AT) and Global Criminology at the University of Utrecht (NL). From 2020 to 2022 she worked as a Junior Lecturer in the BA Security Studies at Leiden University (NL).

Felix Holländer

was from 01/01/2023 to 31/07/2024 a Research Associate at the Chair of Political Science / Civic Education at the Georg-August University of Göttingen. In the Jean Monnet project Fit4EU, he designed, implemented and evaluated teacher trainings in the field of civic education on the European Union. He studied mathematics and politics/economics at the Universities of Kiel and Oldenburg to become a secondary school teacher. During his Master’s degree, he was a Research Assistant at the Institute for Economic Education (IÖB) in Oldenburg.
